With warm to hot summers tempered by a cooling sea breeze, and cool to cold winters, this climate combined with well drained soils, makes ideal growing conditions for our vines; Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines. Trevelen Farm also sources Semillon, Shiraz and Merlot grapes from established partner vineyards in the Frankland River sub-region.
Trevelen Farm is the most northerly of all wineries in the Great Southern. As a result of this location we are rarely affected by coastal rain in summer and the common viticultural diseases that are associated with such rain. Consequently, we are in the position to limit our spraying program to environmentally friendly applications, eg wettable sulphur - used on powdery mildew and to supress Rust Mite.
